Meet Lisbeth Arescurenaga
Lisbeth Arescurenaga was born in Peru and came to the United States alone at 15, determined to build a better future.
Today, she is a proud mom, licensed mental health specialist, and social worker who has dedicated her career to helping families heal, navigate complex systems, and access opportunity. Her work has included supporting unaccompanied minors, providing care to cancer patients and their families, and advocating for communities facing challenges in housing, education, and healthcare.
Now, Lisbeth is running for the Arizona House to represent Glendale and Maryvale and ensure every family in LD24 has the support they need to thrive.
Lisbeth’s Top Priorities for LD24
Strengthen community-based mental-health services so families can get care without long wait times or financial barriers.
This includes more school-based support for youth, culturally competent care, and investing in prevention, not crisis.
Expand Mental Health Access
Fight for affordable housing options, protect renters from displacement, and support policies that help families stay in their homes.
Everyone deserves a safe, stable place to live, t's the foundation for stronger, healthier communities.
Create Affordable, Stable Housing
Ensure every child in Glendale and Maryvale has access to a high-quality, well-funded education.
Increase classroom resources, support educators, and expand mental-health and academic support so students can learn, feel safe, and thrive.
Strengthen Public Education
Maryvale is home to toxic groundwater, declining water quality, and temperatures that are on average 10 degrees hotter than more affluent ZIP codes. We cannot prioritize other issues without first ensuring a healthy and stable environment as the foundation for our community.
