About Lisbeth

Lisbeth Arescurenaga is a community leader and mental health advocate running for State Representative in Arizona’s Legislative District 24. She is running to bring lived experience, compassion, and strong community leadership to the Arizona Legislature.

Born in Peru, Lisbeth immigrated to the United States alone at the age of 15. Adjusting to a new country, language, and culture shaped her understanding of how challenging it can be for families to access education, services, and reliable information. Those experiences inspired her commitment to public service and to ensuring people understand and can navigate the systems that affect their lives.

For more than 15 years, Lisbeth has worked alongside families, youth, and community leaders to connect communities with resources and support. As a community organizer and advocacy director, she has led efforts focused on education, public health, civic engagement, and access to services. Her work includes community education, outreach, and voter education initiatives that help residents stay informed and involved.

Lisbeth’s background in mental health influences how she leads. She understands the effects of stress, trauma, and limited access to care, and she believes effective leadership begins with listening and follows with thoughtful action.

A mother and proud member of the LGBTQ+ community, Lisbeth is running to ensure community voices are reflected in policy and that every family in Legislative District 24 has the opportunity to succeed.
